Sharon "Sherry" May

Sharon “Sherry” Wampler May, 68, of Kingsport, TN, passed away Jan. 24, 2019, following an extended illness. Sherry was born in Wise, VA, the daughter of Fred and Mildred J. Wampler of Anderson. Sherry was an avid quilter, a Master Gardner, and loved her NASCAR racing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. May; father, Fred R. Wampler; and daughter, Katherine Kelly May. She is survived by her children, son, Richard "Tony" May and fiancé, Amber Shockley of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter, Kara Baker and husband, Eric Baker of Kingsport, Tennessee. She was also blessed with eight grandchildren, Kelli Bankson Shockley and husband, Ben Shockley of Bristol, Tennessee, Matthew Broyles, Justin Broyles, Maegan Broyles, Jacob Broyles, Brandon Broyles, all from Kingsport, Tennessee, Leia May, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Evan Baker, Anderson, Indiana; two great-grandchildren, Jensen and Amelia Shockley, Bristol, Tennessee; three special cousins, Vicki Shipley, Kingsport, Tennessee, Elva Woodward and Barbara Woodward, Gate City, Virginia; along with her treasured lifelong friends, Kathy Badger and Brian Shultz of Anderson, Indiana. She also leaves behind a sister, Beverly Carey (husband, Lee Carey) Anderson, Indiana; and two nieces, Misty DeMarco (fiancé Jaime Goff) Carmel, Indiana, and Ashley Carey USCG, Cleveland, Ohio.A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at the Millcreek Civic Center, Room 16, 403 W.
