Griffith, Indiana - Sonny D. Sturgill, Jr., 48, a former resident of Kingsport, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at his residence.He was born in Norton, VA, was a former resident of Kingsport and was currently living in Griffith, Indiana.Sonny was a Senior Project Manager for the Entekk Group.He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and loved spending time with his family.Sonny was preceded in death by his wife, Mitzi Galloway Sturgill; father, Sonny Droit Sturgill, Sr.; sister, Vanessa Sturgill Laughlin and brother, Gregory Allen Sturgill.Surviving are his children, Jessip Ward fiancé, Erika Page, Sonny Zander Sturgill and Chance Isaiah Sturgill; mother, Mildred Absher Sturgill Moore; sisters, Misty Sturgill Linkous and Delona Sturgill Wampler and husband, Mark; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Kingsport Assembly of God Church, 2213 Brandon Lane, Kingsport, TN 37660.A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:30 pm with Tim Feathers officiating.Online condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.oakhillfh.comThe care of Sonny Sturgill and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.Read Obituary
