Stan Sanders

KNOXVILLE - Stan Sanders, 89, formerly of Kingsport, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020, at the home of his son, Marc, after a period of declining health.He was born in Brooklyn, NY, was a former resident of Jacksonville, FL and Kingsport, TN and had lived in Knoxville for the past year.Mr. Sanders served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.He was a Television News Journalist and a restaurateur.Mr. Sanders enjoyed acting in theatre and was a member of the Kingsport Theatre Guild. He never met a stranger.He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Mise Sanders; parents, Mandell and Kitty Jellasso Silverman and brother, Hal Silverman.Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Marc Sanders and wife, Shelly.The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice.The care of Stan Sanders and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.Read Obituary
