Steve Kerney, 71, of Kingsport, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at his residence. He was born April 1, 1950, in Scott County, VA.Steve was a kind, quiet and reserved man who was a hard worker who sincerely loved his family. He was a faithful care-giver to his mother for a number of years.Steve enjoyed watching golf and all sports on television. He retired from A.F.G. following thirty-five years of service.Steve was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Kerney; brothers, Tommy Kerney and Ronald Kerney.Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Tillie Wallace Kerney; son, Christopher S. Kerney; brothers, David Kerney and wife, Susie, Richard Kerney and wife, Michelle; sisters-in-law, Tracy Kerney and Denise Kerney; several nieces and nephews also survive.A private family Committal Service will be held at Oak Hill Memorial Park.To share memories and condolences with the family please visit www.oakhillfh.comThe care of Steve Kerney and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
