Steve Kerney, 71, of Kingsport, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at his residence. He was born April 1, 1950, in Scott County, VA.Steve was a kind, quiet and reserved man who was a hard worker who sincerely loved his family. He was a faithful care-giver to his mother for a number of years.Steve enjoyed watching golf and all sports on television. He retired from A.F.G. following thirty-five years of service.Steve was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Kerney; brothers, Tommy Kerney and Ronald Kerney.Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Tillie Wallace Kerney; son, Christopher S. Went to High School with Steve, he was a little Older than Me, but I will Remember his Friendship and I knew all his Family! Mrs. Kerney, Dave and Richard will all be in My Prayers! We Love You!

Sorry to hear about Steve. Grew up with Steve and the Kerney family. My condolences to Ms. Kerney, Dave, Richard and all the rest of the family.
Steve was a fine man and great neighbor. I enjoyed setting on the porch taking to him listening to some of the stories he had to tell. He will be missed.
