Thelma “Ruth” Bradshaw, 89, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Asbury Place. She was born May 19, 1930, in Kingsport, to the late Charlie and Edna Salling Casteel.Ruth was a committed Christian and a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church for over twenty years.She enjoyed crocheting and quilting for which she had won many First Place Awards. Ruth took great pleasure in giving many of her quilts to family members and friends.Ruth retired from Eastman Chemical Company.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Roy Bradshaw; brother, Bobby Casteel.Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Phyllis Stimes (Larry); son, Gary Head; grandchildren, Lisa Campbell, Larry Campbell, Chuck Campbell and David Head (Jennifer); six great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.The family will receive friends from 4:00-5:45 pm Saturday, July 6, 2019, in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. The Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 pm with Dr. Ronnie Owens and Pastor George Hall officiating. Music will be under the direction of David Francis.A Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of the Last Supper.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Higher Ground Baptist Church, 1625 Lynn Garden Drive, Kingsport, TN 37665 or The Church of Jesus, 809 W. Main Street, Johnson City, TN 37604.The care of Thelma “Ruth” Bradshaw and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
