Thelma Gass Hensley, 78, of Kingsport, passed went to be with the Lord Friday, October 25, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her family.She was born in Pound, VA and had lived in Kingsport most of her life.Mrs. Hensley was a member of Parker’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.She retired from Eastman Chemical Company as a Lab Technician after 30+ years of service.Mrs. Hensley enjoyed crossword puzzles, loved spending time with her family and her church family.She was preceded in death by her husband Hansel Hensley; parents James and Desta Slemp Gass; grandson, James Hensley and a niece, Melissa Summey.Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Dwain Hensley (Kathy) and James “Cotton” Hensley; grandchildren, Jeremy Hensley (Crystal) and Amanda Haga (Jason); step grandchildren, Craig Duncan and Chad Duncan; great grandchildren, Blake Hensley, Jordyn Hensley, Parker Haga and Sydney Haga; step great grandchildren, Cooper Watson, Bailey Watson, Aubrey Duncan and Annabelle Duncan; sisters, Janice Summey (Mack) and Nellie Williams (James); special caregiver, Sandra Hensley; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 6:15 pm Monday, October 28, 2019, at Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel.A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6:30 pm in the chapel with Rev. Gary Calhoun and Rev.
