Thomas “Tom” Lady, 68, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, peacefully at his home with his family by his side. Tom was born on May 26, 1951, in Kingsport, TN, to the late Vertil and Frances Lady.He had worked for the Kingsport Meade for twenty plus years and then as a long haul truck driver for Superior Carriers until his recent retirement. Tom enjoyed riding his Harley and farming. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #274, Fall Branch.He was also preceded in death by his wife, Melanie Lady; and his step-daughter, Crystal Hill Kendrick.Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Travis Lady (Jessica); daughter, Bridgett Blosser (Dan); grandchildren, Brittany Hensley (Lance), Dalton Lady, Annabella Lady, Dayva Lady, and Brantley Blosser; four great-grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Livesay; and his nephews, Joseph Livesay and Loven Livesay (Samantha).The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Sunday, July 21, 2019 in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Masonic Rites will be conducted in the chapel at 12:50 pm by Masonic Lodge #274, Fall Branch. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 pm with Max Richardson officiating.A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm in the Masonic Garden of Oak Hill Funeral Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children at www. shrinershospitalsforchildren.orgThe family extends their sincere gratitude to Wendy Mabb and Kiersten Harris.The care of Thomas “Tom” Lady and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
