Thomas Jefferson Pierce, Jr., 65, of Gray passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2020, with his family by his side.Jeff was born on October 28, 1954, in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Thomas Jefferson Pierce, Sr. and Lynn Shoemate Pierce.He enjoyed computers and teaching classes at ITT Tech. These were some of his favorite memories. Jeff also enjoyed ham radio and disc golf. He attended Oak Grove Baptist Church in Gray, TN. Jeff was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His biggest joy in life was his granddaughter, Abigail.Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 43 years, Betty Pierce; daughters, Sarah Roberts (Joe) and Allison Pierce (Chris Archer); granddaughters, Abigail and Josie Roberts; aunt, Nevajean Reynolds; cousin, Jeananne Anderson; and his best fur friends, Dixie and Molly.The Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2020, under the portico of Oak Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Sherrel Nave officiating. Mr. Pierce taught me so much in his classes at ITT Technical Institute and I enjoyed talking to him about disc golf. He was one of the best teachers I have had. I am saddened to hear about his passing. Ms. Betty and family, you are in my prayers. Rest easy Mr. Pierce!!!

A few years ago I attended ITT Technical Institute where Jeff taught but I did not have him as a teacher. Instead we became friends by just talking in the hallways, he was a very intelligent and interesting character and we shared a lot of interests. I am praying for God's comfort for his family. Jeff you will be missed!
