Timothy Edward (Tim) Hoskins, age 62, departed our world August 23, 2021. He was a graduate of Ketron High School in 1977 and received his Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Tennessee Technological University in 1997.Tim was truly passionate about life and the beauties of this world, a dedicated family man, he enjoyed outdoor life with zest, enjoyed fishing and skiing for years. Tim also truly loved gardening, which he came by honestly from his father’s passion for what a simple seed could grow into, his dad’s words “God’s wonders are amazing, from a tiny seed the things that grow.” He also loved his various pets over the years, he was truly a kind soul and man of peace. His fascination with time pieces, technology and space was undeniable; he spent his entire career focused on technology as an IT Consultant working in a variety of industries.Tim is preceded in death by his beloved father, Homer Hoskins; his beloved sister, Kimberly Collette (Hoskins). Our family would like to thank our friends and family for the prayers and support during this unexpected event. Our family is devastated by Tim’s passing, but holds faith that he is at peace and that heaven is a little brighter today.Tim is survived by his mother, Hilda Hoskins (McConnell); sister, Misty Martin (Hoskins) and husband, Ricky Martin; brother, Chuck Hoskins and wife, Susan Hoskins; brother, Neil Hoskins; nephew and nieces, Matt Collette, Laura Barton (Collette), Austin Collette, David Martin, Sarah Martin, Charlie Hoskins, Adrian Hoskins and Shane Leonard; great nephews and nieces, Matilda, Eleanor, Holly, Silas, Sadie and Ellie. Tim is survived by and deeply loved by his wife of the past 27 years, Mary Ellen, his mother-in-law, Anita, and father-in-law, Arnold Ausenbaugh whom they loved as their own son.For the past 16 years, Tim has been an active member of the Buffalo Valley Presbyterian Church where he enjoyed the fellowship of a small and caring community. On many Sunday’s he would arrive at church early to listen to his wife’s organ practice and sing along with the hymns, just a bit off-key. He especially loved spending time in the church kitchen with Anita at the annual Thanksgiving Dinner where his turkey carving skills were legendary. Tim’s energy and presence in that house of worship will be deeply missed.The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 31, 2021, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Bloomingdale Baptist Church, 3220 Bloomingdale Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Phil Whittemore and Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating.The Graveside Service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.Due to Covid-19, the family respectfully requests those attending the visitation and services to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
