Tina Lynne Bates-Fullen In the arms of an angel, our dear Tina left this earth on October 27, 2018. She had fought and suffered a courageous battle with cancer before our Lord took her home. She professed her salvation through Christ in the spring of 2018, and continually felt blessed every day while battling this painful disease. Tina was a gifted artist and enjoyed making crafts and jewelry. She enjoyed studying world events and astronomy as she felt God gave us the heavens to enjoy gazing at his masterwork. Tina graduated with honors from college with a degree in Office Management. The majority of her life was lived in Washington County, VA within the Abingdon and Glade Spring area. Tina had lost her ability to speak in 2012 after a near fatal heart attack, but the impairment did not stop her form trying to live an enjoyable life without voice. She joined support groups of those with similar impairments. She not only found support, but she was also able to provide support to others in need. She had a true love for the poor and afflicted souls of this world, constantly doing unknown kind deeds. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bill and Dolly Baker; paternal grandparents, Landis and Mary Bates; parents, Tom and Ruth Bates; beloved daughter, Candace Brooke Shelton; nephew, Jacob Bentley; and cousins, Rocky Hopkins, Bobbi Joe Lawson, Brett and Brian Cantrell Tina is survived by her daughters, Amanda “Mandy” Love and husband Chris, and their children, Gracie and Jordyn of Coeburn, VA and Lori Bowen and husband Danny and their children Alena, Andrew, Zoe, and Chloe of Wise, VA; son, Aaron Fullen and dear friend Charisma; brother, Doug Bates and wife Tammy of Pikeville, KY; sister, Mary Beth Bentley and husband Jerry of Pound, VA; nana, Joan Bentley; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews as well as several family members who have comforted and prayed for her during this painful time; and her furry companion, Willow. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Lost Creek Ministries in Norton, VA with Pastor Jeff Reynolds officiating.
