Tommy Patton Sanders, 88, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Holston Valley Medical Center with his loving family by his side.Tommy was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed gardening and looked forward to spending time with family during the holidays.He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Joyce Sanders; parents, Henry and Lucille Agee Sanders; brother, Ronald Lee Sanders; sisters, Mildred Ruth Kilgore, Betty Ann Hale, Nancy Gillenwater, and an infant sister.Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Terry P. Sanders and Jeffrey L. Sanders; grandchildren, Ryan Sanders (Amanda), Brooks Sanders (Devon), Lilly Williams (Victor), Mathew Sanders (Candace), Austin Sanders, Christian Sanders (Misty) and Sherica Sanders; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ashya, Nylis, Riley, Bryson, Kodah, Mason and Ivy; siblings, Phil Sanders, Sammy Sanders, Richard Sanders, and Frances Gillenwater; special friends, Daniel and Sheila Davis, Carl and Joann Smith; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 23, 2019, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home.A Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mike Stout officiating.A Graveside service will follow in the Garden of the Good Shepherd at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.
