Virginia Ellison Jones, 76, died Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN.She was born April 2, 1942, in Beefhide, KY to the late Lester and Thelma Ellison. She graduated from Dobyns Bennett High School in Kingsport, TN and East Tennessee State University with a teaching degree.She will always be remembered for her joy, smile, and love for life. Her humor and quick wit were enjoyed by all. Her amazing memory was there for us whenever we needed her help. Jenny's ability to play the piano was another one of her many talents. No matter what the struggle or distress was, she always maintained her faith in God. She always enjoyed helping and sharing with others. Her love of family and friends was evident in the smiles and hugs one received when they visited her.Survivors include one daughter Karen Malpas and husband Jim and three grandchildren, Thomas, Katherine & Sarah Malpas of Thompson's Station, TN; two brothers, Don Ellison of Kingsport, TN and Daryl Ellison and wife Linda of Tallahassee, FL; one sister Kathy Grabel and husband Fred of Cape Girardeau, MO. In addition she is survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.A Memorial Service and Entombment will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Oak Hill I Mausoleum with Rev. Diana Brown Taylor and Rev. Daniel H. Taylor, Jr. officiating.Memorial contributions can be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 2600 East Center Street, Kingsport, TN 37664.The care of Virginia Ellison Jones and her family has been entrusted to Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
