Bennie P. Bishop

Bennie Pendleton Bishop, 85, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 11, 2019. Bennie was born in the Manville community in Scott County, VA to the late Isaac Arlo and Norma France Pendleton.She attended Apostolic Lighthouse Church, Kingsport and retired from Eastman with 31 years of service.In addition to her parents, Bennie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bishop; sisters, Evelyn Adams, Elizabeth Bellamy, Mildred Templeton, Bernice Soloman and Margaret Sneed; brothers, James Mark Pendleton and Lloyd Curt Pendleton.Bennie is survived by her sister, Claudia Byrd; brothers, Eugene Pendleton (Betty), Olin Pendleton (Eula) and Rayford Pendleton (Martha); step-daughters, Bernice McCrakin and Brenda Heck; grandchildren, Penny Thomlinson (Jerry), James Heck and Brent McCrakin; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 pm Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 145 Shipp Springs Road, Kingsport. Funeral Services will follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor David Peters officiating.Graveside Services will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 15, 2019, in the Garden of the Last Supper, Oak Hill Memorial Park.Memorial contributions in Bennie’s honor may be made to Apostolic Lighthouse Church by visiting lighthousekpt.comThe care of Bennie Pendleton Bishop and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.Read Obituary
