Charles A. Steadman, 91, of Kingsport, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at Life Care Center of Gray, TN. He was born May 28, 1928, in Sullivan County, TN to the late Ed and Flora Lemons Steadman.Charles was a loving, kind and giving man who was especially fond of his grandchildren. He loved animals and enjoyed farming and hunting.Charles retired from Slip Not Belting Company as a delivery driver following thirty-eight years of service.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Manis Steadman; brothers, Toby Steadman, Wallace Steadman and E. L Steadman, Jr.; sisters, Beatrice Frazier, Fannie Bishop and Nancy Bowser.Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Johnny Steadman and Randy Steadman (Marilyn); grandchildren, Christy Gedelman, Sarah Myers and Mattie Steadman; great-grandchild, Phillip Cook; great-great-grandchildren, Addie Cook, Nellie Myers and Avett Luca Steadman; brother, Hubert Steadman; several nieces and nephews.A Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday, August 19, 2019, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Everlasting Life. Pastor Teddy Webb will officiate.The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff of Life Care Center of Gray, TN especially, Brenda for their compassionate care of Charles.The care of Charles A. Steadman and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.

I always enjoyed his stories and laughs. He may be gone in body. His memories and spirit will never leave me until the breath leaves my body ! 🙏
