Janie Strickler Jones

Janie Strickler Jones, 86, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at Orchard View Nursing Home. She was born May 10, 1933, in Sullivan County, TN to the late Carl and Charlcie Martin.Janie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and was especially fond of her dogs.Janie was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Kingsport.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Strickler; second husband, Edward Jones and one sister.Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Vickie Arms (Mike); son, Rick Strickler (Linda); grandchildren, Jessica Manley, Laura Johnson (Jamie) and Lori Malone (David); great-grandchildren, Savannah, William and Grant.The family will receive friends Friday, November 8, 2019, from 5:00-7:00 pm at the residence of her daughter, Vickie Arms.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6601 Broadway Ext., Unit 120, Oklahoma City, Ok 73116.The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staffs of Orchard View Nursing Home and Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care of Janie.The care of Janie Strickler Jones and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary
