UNCLE GERALD WAS SO MUCH LIKE MY DADDY I JUST ADORED HIM. HIS GENTLENESS, STRENGTH, WISDOM,HIS FUNNY JOKES, HIS FAMILY LOVING WAYS AND HIS OVERWHEMING CARING FOR OTHERS,EITHER HUMAN OR ANIMALS! HE WAS AN EXELLENT HUSBAND, FATHER, UNCLE, FRIEND, AND SERVANT TO OUR LORD. WE WILL MISS HIM AND REMEMBER HIM INDEED BUT HE HAS A NEW ROLL NOW WITH JESUS TO FOREFILL WHICH HE WILL DO EXCEEDING WEII! MY PRAYERS ARE WITH THE FAMILY.
HIS NIECE: JANET DYKES ( DONALD DYKES'S DAUGHTER )
That sweet smile was something else ! My uncle was steadfast in His love for his family. How he loved his parents , siblings , his precious wife Yvonne and her family , and , of course , his three wonderful daughters .He was so thankful to be their daddy. And look out world - all those grandchildren and great - grands were and will always be the icing on the cake !!
My daddy and mother loved him to the moon and back. We all eagerly anticipated the week of vacation when he would come during the summer when we lived in Oak Ridge and Knox County . That week always went by too quickly .
When I met my " forever love," one of the very first places I took my future husband was to Gerald and Yvonne 's house at Gray, seeking their approval.
He loved me over seventy years ... humbling .
His gentle nature and legacy of love will live on throughout his family.
He was such a good husband and father. We were all blessed to know him and see his fine example of kindness and dependability. He has beautiful daughters who are his treasure. God bless his family during this trying time.
I was his friend and worked with him for over 32 years. He was always joking with us and kidding around. He was a good friend who will always be remembered as one of the best!
Big "G"
Mr. Hunley stopped by one summer day. He wanted to talk about Keplar Girls Basketball.. His girls were all grown. We just shared tales of "Good Ole Days".. Sweet memories. The girls were in all sports at KU. Thanks to the support of their mom and dad...
