“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”Marvin Ralph Price, 72, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at Holston Valley Medical Center.Marvin was born in Hawkins County, TN on November 14, 1946, to the late William (Junebug) and Hazel Price. He was the youngest of three sons. He was raised on a small farm in Rogersville in the Choptack Community and church where he was saved at the age of 10 years old.He met his wife, Mary, while working as a plumber in Washington, D.C. Together, they have three children, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.They later returned to Kingsport, and Marvin worked at the Eastman Chemical Company in the Acid Division for thirty three years. He retired from the Eastman on December 31, 1999.Marvin loved spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies and interests included: hunting, fishing, sports and golf, horseback riding, going to movies, playing cards, and taking his family out to eat and on vacations to the beach.Marvin was an active member of Orebank Missionary Baptist Church where he was the lawn caretaker for many years and later the “tomato provider” for the monthly church breakfast.In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Price.Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Mary Bates Price; brother, Roy Price (Carolyn); daughter, Tammy Odom (Chuck); son David Price (Robin); daughter, Toni Crawford (Jason); grandson, Andew Odom (Hannah); granddaughter, Emily Vradenburgh (Rodger); granddaughter, Ellen Odom; grandson, Ryan Burke; granddaughters, Lindy Salyers and Kenzie Thomas; great-granddaughters, Alice, Annabelle, Jane and Faith; great-grandsons, Brennan and Rylan.The family will receive friends Sunday, March 31, 2019, from 1:00-2:30 pm at Orebank Missionary Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:30 pm with Pastor David Smith and Pastor David Foster officiating.Graveside Service will follow at Choptack Church Cemetery in Hawkins County, TN with Pastor Keith Osborne officiating.The family extends their sincere gratitude to Dr. Richard Reed, Dr. Douglas Homoky, Dr. Samuel Plucker, Dr. Vu and the ICU nurses at Holston Valley Medical Center for their loving care of Marvin.The care of Marvin Ralph Price and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.

Love prayers sympathy and support always to Mary and her dear family who have always been like a second family to me and my family and always been family friends of ours as far back as I can remember in our growing up years on McFarland Dr, they have always been there for us during good times and bad.
