Sarah Conkin, 90, of Kingsport, passed to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Wexford House. Sarah was born on August 14, 1928 in North Carolina, but she had resided in Kingsport for most of her life. She was a kind, caring, and strong woman who never lost her faith in God. Sarah was a member of Andrew Memorial Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Conkin; and daughter, Peggy Conkin. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Carol Pyle (Kermit), Ronnie Conkin (Eunice), Ann McKinley (Samuel), and Johnny Conkin; brother, William France (Ethel) of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and dozens of nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, February 1, 2019 in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will follow in the chapel with Brother Randy McMillion and Pastor Clint Hensley officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of the Last Supper. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the gravesite at 10:45 am. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her Church family for their continued prayers and support and also to the nurses and staff of Wexford House. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org The care of Sarah Conkin and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary

I had the pleasure of being a part of Sarah's care the last couple years of her life.. she was a woman of Great faith and so sweet and caring about others.. she will be missed!! My heart goes out to her family!!
